PengLe Restaurant @ KulaiJaya

KULAI-7

Restaurant PengLe (朋乐軒)is a new a restaurant in KulaiJaya. It is a chinese restaurant but you can find a lot of other cuisine in the menu. The owner is a young man but he has more than 10 years of being a chef in a renowned Chinese restaurant. We are lucky enough to have the owner there, he also recommended us a few dishes for us to try them out.

KULAI2-1

Restaurant PengLe serve many variety of dishes, they have dishes for family meals or individuals set. The pricing is very reasonable, and for the price, the food there taste surprisingly nice, on par with many higher end Chinese restaurant.

KULAI-6

One of their top recommendations, Indonesian Prawn Noodle (印尼虾面). Compare to other prawn noodle in Malaysia, this prawn noodle’s soup is a little bit thicker. The taste of this Indonesian Parawn Noodle is getting harder to find now, something that is old school/traditional.

KULAI-5

Chinese Herbal Drumstick Soup served with rice (药材鸡腿汤饭). Once the lid is opened the smell of the Chinese herbs just rushed out of the bowl, I almost drank it before I shoot this. 😛 .Normally you will think the meat in a soup will be hard and tasteless but this is totally the opposite. The chicken drumstick is tender and full of flavor from the herbs.

KULAI-4

Next up, Thai style Pork Rib Rice (泰式排骨王饭). I liked this dish a lot, the sauce for the pork is very nice, and the simple fried rice goes very well with it.

KULAI-3

This is the Thai Style Fried Chicken Chop (泰式炸鸡扒). I strongly recommend this dish, after trying all of the other dishes, me and my friend were quite full, but I just can’t stop eating this fried chicken chop. Everything in this dish very well balanced, the crispiness and the amount of flour, the amount of sauce and it’s flavor, and the addition of the nice tender juicy of the chicken, I just love this dish a lot. 😀 😀
